Sixty patients who underwent surgery for salivary gland tumors between 1975 and 1990 were reviewed clinically. Forty-six cases were benign and 14 were malignant. Clinical symptoms, such as rigidity, pain and mobility of the tumors are useful in the preoperative diagnosis for malignancy. Correlation between clinical symptoms and prognosis were not found significantly in the grade of malignant tumors.
