RANK-RANKL signalling pathway contributes to disease progression in cutaneous angiosarcoma: a case report with an immunohistochemical review and in vitro experiments To the Editor, Cutaneous angiosarcomas (CASs) typically arise on the scalp in the elderly. 1 CAS is known to have poor prognosis, and there is a need for promising treatments that improve the prognosis. 2, 3 As we have been treating a chemotherapy-resistant advanced CAS case through denosumab, a monoclonal inhibitor against receptor activator inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL), we herein describe his clinical course.(c) The expression levels of RANK/RANKL protein were assessed from human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), normal human dermal fibroblasts (NHDF) and HAMON angiosarcoma cells.[Extracted from the article]
