The third mouse Chromosome (Chr) 1 Committee report includes: 1) extensive linkage information; 2) comparative mapping relationships with human gene homologs; 3) correlation with in situ chromosomal positions; 4) a list of oligonucleotide PCR primers for sequence-tagged sites; 5) recombinant inbred strain distribution patterns; 6) a tabular summary of visible markers, diseases, and loci of major interest; and 7) reference loci. The reader is referred to the first and second mouse Chr I Committee reports (Seldin et al. 1991; Seldin 1992) for listings of Robertsonian and inversion mice and a fuller description of gene families, mutations, and diseases that have been mapped to mouse Chr 1. The report includes both published and unpublished data that have been reviewed by the Committee. Unpublished data are attributed to the laboratory or individuals who have submitted data to the Committee for inclusion. The unpublished data substantially enhance the available information and do not preclude separate publication of the primary data. The Committee strongly encourages the formal presentation of the primary data.
