The enthalpies of formation of the isostructural tungstates MWOi (M= Mg, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd) were determined by solution calorimetry in a 3Na20’4Mo03 melt at 970 K. Regularities in theheats of formation are compared with those observed for spinels, sulfates, and carbonates of the same cations.
