Here we report on the presence of sulfated lipopolysaccharide molecules inAzospirillum brasilense, a plant growth‐promoting rhizosphere bacterium. Chemical analysis provided structural data on the O‐antigen composition and demonstrated the possible involvement of thenodPQgenes in O‐antigen sulfation.
