The present work is based on 47 specimens of Nep~ lese Dolichopodidae, of which 44 belong to the Canadian Nepal Expedition (CNE), 1967, and were submitted to my study by Dr. JR Vockeroth; and three to the Hokkaido University Scientific Expedition to Nepal Himalaya (HUE), 1968". In the present collection five species belonging to the genus Diostracus Loew have been distinguished and are named as new species in this paper except for one which is represented by a single female specimen. Receiving these species, the genus may need again a review, which is given after the descriptions of the species. The main part of the specimens including the holotypes of the new species are deposited in the Canadian National Collection (CNC), Ottawa.
