When reactions occur in heterogeneous Systems (such as flotation pulps), they take place predominanuy at one of the interfaces, whether the solid/liquid, the liquid/liquid, or tlie liquid/gas. Some reactions may occur within the liquid phase, among tlie dissolved species, but such homogeneous reactions are not the prevailingones in flotation Systems.
