reconstructive the and mesh has been widely used as a surgical treatment for POP; however, it is dif fi cult to ascertain the actual condition of the implanted mesh when complications occur after surgery. To visualize mesh, ultrasonic diag-nostics are used in daily practice. 1,2 The ultrasonic imaging procedure is easily performed and is very effective in delineating the distal side of the urethra. However, there is a limit to the information that can be obtained because it is not possible to depict the proximal side, including the apex of the vagina and the mesh arm. Visualization of mesh using MRI, whereby the mesh was visualized as a linear low signal on T2-enhanced imaging, has been reported; how-ever, it was dif fi cult to differentiate mesh from surrounding scar tissue and artifacts. 3,4 Polypropylene mesh, a radiolucent material, had been used for POP surgery; however, the ORIHIME mesh (CROWNJUN Kouno Co., Japan) currently used in Japan is made of polytetra fl uoroethylene, a radiopaque material. This material is also used for arti fi cial blood vessels and stent grafts, and these medical implants can be detected on X-ray
