Wild-type and mutant strains ofDrosophila pseudoobscuraandD. persimiliswere studied for the following maze running activities: frequency of maze completion, rate of progress through the maze, and geotaxis. It was found that these three components of maze behavior were affected to some extent by sex, strain, and species. The significance of these findings in assessing genotype-environment interactions inDrosophilamaze studies is discussed.
