Three new sesquiterpene alcohols with africanne skeleton-leptographiol (1), isoleptographiol (2), and isoafricanol (3)-have been isolated from Leptographium lundbergii Lag. et Mel. Their structures and configurations were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, in particular by nuclear Overhauser enhancement difference 1H NMR spectra and by two-dimensional 1H/1H- and 13C/1H-chemical shift correlation. The biosynthetic origin of 1-3 is briefly discussed.
