A series of novel fused pyrrole derivatives was synthesized by one-pot three-component reaction of beta-enaminoketones, derived from cyclohexane-1,3-dione or dimedone, arylglyoxal hydrates, and 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid in EtOH.
