This bachelor thesis provides an introduction to set theory, cardinal characteristics of the continuum and the generalized cardinal characteristics on arbitrary regular cardinals. It covers the well known ZFC relations of the bounding, the dominating, the almost disjointness and the splitting number as well as some more recent results about their generalizations to regular uncountable cardinals. We also present an overview on the currently known consistency results and formulate open questions.
