Preliminary clinical trials have shown chloroquine diphosphate to be of value in the treatment of the chronic discoid phase of lupus erythematosus. This antimalarial agent is less toxic than quinacrine (Atabrine), but, with prolonged admn. the possibility of the occurrence of toxic symptoms must be considered.
