The reaction between AH2/AH" and H02/02" was followed frompH 0.3 to 11, leading to the following rate constants: ks= 1.6 X 101 234 M" 1 6s" 1 for the reaction between AH2 and H02, kxl+ 0.365 fclg= 1.22 X 107 8M" 1 s'1 for the reactions between AH" and H02 and AH2 and 02", respectively, and kxg= 5 X 104 M" 1 s" 1 for the reaction between AH" and 02". The radical-radical reactions of A"· with H02 and 02" were measured and found to proceed at rates of k9= 5 X 109 s" 1 and kxl= 2.6 X 10® M" 1 s" 1, respectively. An overall mechanism for the oxidation of AH2/AH" by H02/02" consistent with the experimental results is also proposed.
