Tamas I. Gombosi, professor of space science and aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, has been appointed senior editor of the Journal of Geophysical Research-Space Physics. His term will begin August 1 and continue until December 31, 1996.
Gombosi's main objective as editor is to keep JGR (blue) the “best space physics journal in the world,” while making it more readable, more interesting, and increasing its circulation. Specifically, he wants to provide the highest-quality forum for space physics, assure equal access and standards for scientists from all over the world, and provide a forum for new, high-risk ideas.
