Trends in eye cancer mortality are presented for the USA and England and Wares during the period 1955-89. Mortality rates have fallen by 58% in the USA during this period. The fall in mortality is paralleled by an equal fall in incidence rates in the USA. In England and Wales, mortality rates and incidence rates have remained relatively constant during the last three decades. The explanation for these differences between the USA and England and Wales is unknown.
