A 68-year-old woman had been aware of a nodule on her right hip for 20 years that had gradually grown. It was frequently compressed and painful while sitting. Physical examination revealed a 1 cm, soft nodule with a centrally located deep dimple (Fig. 1). Epidermal cyst was suspected and the nodule was resected (Fig. 1). Histologic examination revealed mature ectopic fat scattered throughout the reticular dermis (Fig. 2). The fat tissue was continuous with the subcutaneous adipose tissue.
