Disregarding all speculation and recognizing the limitations of the exps., the volume of data and the circumstances of control, the basic fact that infection can remain suspended alive in air for periods which may permit its wide dissemination seems to be demonstrated. That the time and distance droplet nuclei infection may travel depends more upon the viability of the organisms in air than upon settling rate seems obvious. Important differences in viability in air of micro-organisms are apparent and these differences seem to be consistent with the etiology, epidemiology and pathology of air-borne infection.[long dash]Auth. concl.
