Concentrations of Pb, Hg, Cd, Zn, Ni, Cu, and Mn in the hair of subjects from the industrial city of Port Arthur, Texas were determined. Values were compared to published values of subjects living in the eastern United States. Comparable results were obtained; however, higher lead values were found for Port Arthur. There were several subjects containing high lead and/or mercury. These appear to be isolated cases. Copper and zinc values appear to be related to hair pigmentation.
