plgeons that were rein-forced for pecking at a single-wavelength responded to nearby wavelengths with lower rates. Response rates indicated the plgeons'' certainty that the reinforced stimulus was present. The ratings yielded receiver operating characteristic functions that approximated straight lines on a double probability plot.
