A new fossil diatom species, Cymbella taicuonensis is erected and described in this paper. The species was found by the authors from the Late Pleistocene flora in Taicuo Lake, Ritu County, Northwest Xizang(Tibet). The specimens were photographed using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.
