A simple stable shooting method for the Schrodinger equation is described and is shown to work with various integrators, including the Numerov one. Quantum mechanical techniques are extended to apply to problems for which E is not a traditional eigenvalue and are shown to permit the extraction of useful information even from an unstable shooting method.
