MethodsPatients. Renal biopsy specimens from 74 patients (46 male, 28 female, aged from10 to 69 years) with different types of glomerulonephritis were analyzed. On the basis of the morphological examination [Bohle et al., 1984] the diagnoses listed in table I were made. With regard to the functional parameters, 31 healthy controls were tested. All patients included in this study had at least a protein excretion of 3 g/24 h.
