Copolymer films of aniline with o-aminobenzonitrile were electrochemically synthesized under centrifugal acceleration ranging from 1 to ca. 300 g. The copolymerization ratio could be controlled by the applied gravitational force. In addition, the effect of the force exerted on the working electrode was found to be anisotropic. Similar trends could also be observed in the electrochemical copolymerizations of 2, 2'-bithiophene with pyrrole and N-methylpyrrole. A mechanism for the electrochemical deposition of the copolymers under centrifugal force has also been proposed.
