The Dedekind vf~ inction defined in the upper-half plane H by is one of the most famous and well-studied f~~ nctions in mathematics, particularly in relation to elliptic curves and modular forms. Its 24th power is a modular form of weight 12 for the group SL (2, Z) or equivalently the expression
