鼻激惹试验用于评价鼻粘膜对过敏原、I型变态反应介质、促变态反应药物等的敏感性。鼻激发应通过使用鼻镜目视双侧下鼻甲的固定面积进行，然后通过鼻内窥镜检查评估产生的鼻反应并计数喷嚏次数或者用气压计测量。为此，作者开发的纸片法由于易于应用，测试结果可靠，副作用最小，因此具有实用价值。
Nasal provocation testing is employed to evaluate the sensitivity of nasal mucous membrane to allergen, mediators of the type I allergy, autonomotropic drug and so on. From our experimental results, nasal provocation should be performed by application of a fixed size of surface area of the bilateral inferior turbinate visually using a rhinoscope and then nasal response produced should be assessed by rhinoscopy together with counting the number of sneezes or with a rhinomanometer. For this purpose, the paper disc method developed by the author was practically useful due to easiness of application, reliability of test result, and minimum side effect.
