Many parents begin actively capitalizing on their children’s rapidly developing verbal abilities and engage them more fully in conversations about emotions. However, given the relative newness of this topic, few researchers have investigated whether there are stable, individual differences in parents’ use of emotion talk during their children’s toddler and preschool years.
