The Association for Childhood Education International (www.ACEI.org) , the mission of which is to promote and support the optimal education, development, and well-being of children worldwide, organized the Global Summit on Childhood in Washington, D.C., USA from 28 – 31 March, 2012, along with a number of other organizations such as the Alliance for Childhood. During the Global Summit on Childhood, ACEI and the Alliance for Childhood launched the Decade for Childhood, a 10-year initiative that provides opportunities for individuals and organizations to disseminate knowledge, consider best policies and practices, and support a global conversation about childhood.
