Recently, MUCH NEW INFORMATION relative to the musculature of the masticatory apparatus has been obtained through the use of the electromyograph. Research on mandibular movement, physiologic rest position and centric position, hinge axis, and pathologic conditions-l 7 have contributed to an ever increasing knowledge of muscular function. The electromyograph has become another valuable instrument in aiding dental research, Jarabak7 and Pruzanskys describe the electromyographic equipment and the physiologic basis for the recordings.
