Acidity constants for a number of substituted acetophenone and benzophenone hydrazones were determined spectrophotometrically. The resultant pK values can be correlated with the Hammett-values when the hypothetical formaldehyde hydrazone is considered to be the parent structure and when the sum of the-constants of all substituents is employed.
