BE CAUSE of the economic importance of domestic fowl, the nutritional requirements for poultry have been studied for many years. Thus, the protein requirements for different life processes of chickens, turkeys, and ducks have been published a revised repeatedly (Heywang, Bird, a9d Vavich, 1955; Snetsinger and Scott, 19 Creger et al., 1960; Klain et al., 1960; National Research Council, 1960). Studies with domestic fowl, as a rule, do not reflect variable environmental conditions, since it is assumed that modern poultry production incorporates optimal conditions. That assumption is partially valid, but some workers (Heywang et al., 1955) have correlated their nutritional studies
