Synthetic A-type carbonated apatite and enamel samples were irradiated using X rays and gamma rays of Cs-137,d Co-60 in the range of 47 keV to 1.25 MeV. The energy-dependent response of CO2- radicals induced by radiation in both systems is studied using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). No energy dependence was verified for synthetic apatites and enamel in the range of 58 to 1250 keV. The results are compared with the energy dependence of the same radicals induced in bones and enamel reported in the literature.
