A Review of Research on Metaverse Defining Taxonomy and Adaptive Architecture

The Metaverse has been very popular in recent years. More definitions are emerging with the development of various technologies. This article has researched the change in the description of the Metaverse in recent years and found that the current reports are roughly divided into two categories. One is service-oriented, and another is techniques-oriented. Then according to the definition, we researched the previous articles that proposed the structure of the Metaverse. Inspired by the design of the Internet, combined with the complex problems, we assumed the structure for the Metaverse. First, we collect the articles that give the Metaverse definition—and then use a method to classify reports. Following that, we summarize different researcher's definitional issues of the Metaverse. Then we analyzed the assumed architectures from the definitional point of view. Finally, we discussed the hot application scenarios and future work.
