咀嚼筋腱・腱膜過形成症の病態はいまだ完全に解明されていない. われわれは共同研究を通じて, 咀嚼筋腱・腱膜過形成症の基礎研究を進めてきた. 基礎研究にはアイデア・研究費・マンパワー, という 3 要素が重要である. 共同研究の構築は, 臨床系研究者に不足することの多いこれらの要素を補ってくれる. 本稿ではおよそ 10 年間にわたり行ってきた研究成果の概要ならびに共同研究の構築方法を示すとともに, 咀嚼筋腱・腱膜過形成症に関するトランスレーショナルリサーチへの展望についても紹介する.
