The solubility of hydrogen In nitrobenzene and methanol was studied In a temperature range of 25-70 C and at hydrogen partial pressure up to 60 atm (6060 kPa). The solubility was also determined In mixtures of nitrobenzene and methanol at various concentrations. The values of the heat of solution of hydrogen In methanol and nitrobenzene were found to be 3.725 and 3.810 kJ/mol, respectively. A method tocorrelate the solubility data based on thermodynamic parameters has been described for both single solvent and mixtures. The effect of temperature as well as the heat of solution can also be predicted with this method.
