The second harmonic generation process is considered using partially coherent light formed by the superposition of a coherent field and a chaotic field. The conversion efficiency is derived. Expressions are also presented for the variance and for the probability density function of the second harmonic intensity and of the transmitted intensity at the fundamental wavelength.
