(Daniels et al. Improved reporting of clinical effectiveness and adverse events allows clinicians to understand the risk/benefit ratio for a treatment, thus aimed in clinician-patient discussion for treatment selection.
Chronic pelvic pain (CPP), often defined as non-cyclical pelvic pain lasting for 6 months or longer, affects approximately 2-24% of women, depending on the CPP definition used (Daniels et al. Improved reporting of clinical effectiveness and adverse events allows clinicians to understand the risk/benefit ratio for a treatment, thus aiding in clinician-patient discussions for treatment selection. Pain 2005; 11: 9-19) confirm that a set of recommended core outcomes and outcome measures is feasible and is essential to move the field of CPP treatment forward in terms of novel treatment discovery and treatment selection.[Extracted from the article]Copyright of BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is the property of Wiley-Blackwell and its content may not be copied or emailed to multiple sites or posted to a listserv without the copyright holder's express written permission.
