In the present study, we explored the association of catecholamines with insulin sensitivity in "metabolically healthy but obese" (MHO) individuals, by examining the metabolic characteristics and plasma catecholamine levels in 100 obese, sedentary postmenopausal women. Subjects were classified as MHO (n = 25) or at-risk (n = 25) based on the upper and lower quartiles of insulin sensitivity as measured by the hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp technique.
