Supporting hospitals in England that are facing financial failure requires a measured approach that takes account of the local health economy rather than “quick fixes,” a new report has said.1 The report from the health policy think tank the King’s Fund has warned that the prolonged fall in funding meant that the NHS was now facing a period when even the best managed organisations would struggle to avoid financial failure.
