Bone grafting of alveolar clefts in the cleft palate patient must be done with 2 objectives in mind: restoration of form and restoration of function to the alveolar cleft. A retrospective analysis of 41 patients grafted with particulate cancellous bone marrow is presented. This method is evidently preferable to other techniques currently in use. Complications of the procedure and proper timing of the surgical correction are discussed.
