The oscillation period of a current oscillation in reduction reaction of H2O2 on a Pt electrode in an acidic solution becomes shorter with time by addition of a small amount of Cu2+, AuCl4− or Ru3+ ions to the solution, whereas the period becomes longer by addition of Ag+ ions. The difference is explained by assuming deposition of dispersed metal atoms during the oscillation together with a difference in the H2O2-reduction mechanism among the metals.
