The survey indicates that the health of the natives in the o.ld village of Keneba is marginal and that their reserves to meet physiological and pathological stresses (pregnancy and parasitism or disease) are low. Immunity to attack is hard to develop and difficult to maintain under such conditions. The combined forces of malnutrition (due to an almost completely cereal diet) and parasitism (nearly universal) are major factors in limiting the progress and develop- ment of these primitive peoples.
