The authors discusses the nature of pre-drinking in young adults. They say that the use of the Internet-based Cell phone-optimized Assessment Technique (ICAT) method is innovative, particularly in research regarding alcohol. They state that the method involves the telephone monitoring work with adolescents. They add that the prevalence in the sample which is 12% and the link between pre-drinking and heavy alcohol use has consequences.
