A standard operating procedure is a document containing step-by-step instructions that personnel must follow when performing any medical procedure (therapeutic, diagnostic, sanitary-epidemiological, preventive, etc.). Standard operating procedures allow unifying the process regardless of who performs it, standardizing the methodology, and ensuring high accuracy, reproducibility, and consistency in the work of medical personnel. The quality of the work performed ultimately depends on how competently this document is drawn up, and how fully all the nuances of a particular medical procedure are taken into account. It does not matter what area of activity this technique covers — standardization is necessary in any process, from cleaning the premises to complex diagnostic measures using high-tech equipment.
