This study focused on 2 leadership patterns, Consideration and Structure, and on 2 questions:(a) the form of the relationship between leader behavior and indices of group behavior, and (b) the interaction effects of different combinations of Consideration and Structure. Relationships between foreman behavior and 2 indices of group behavior, labor grievances, and employee turnover, were investigated. In general, low Consideration and high Structure go with high grievances and turnover but there are critical levels beyond which increased Consideration or decreased Structure have no further effect. The relationship is curvilinear and hyperbolic. The thresholds differ for grievances and turnover.(PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
