OBJECTIVE To select the endophytic fungi promoting growth and development of Anoectochilus roxburghii .METHODS A.roxburgii seedlings and 4 strains endophytic fungi isolated from the orchids were cultured together on five kinds of medium in vitro culture.Suitable dual culture medium were selected according to the growth of the plantlets and fungi .On the basis of these, 17 strains of fungi isolated from orchids were cultured together with seedlings for one month, respectively.Endophytic fungi promoting growth and development of A.roxburgii were selected , with its fresh weight, plant height as index.RESULTS One strain could promote seedlings growth significantly(P0.05), and three strains extremely significantly increased the plant height of A.roxburghii seedlings(P0.01) , which could reach as high as 2.04 times compared with the control.Two strains of them showed effective influence on A.roxburghii growth.CONCLUSION The selection of dual culture medium and beneficial fungi of A.roxburghii laid a foundation for the further research of the symbiotic mechanism between them and new artificial cultivation methods of A.roxburghii.
