This paper presents an off-body wireless channel measurement campaign at 2.4 GHz in an indoor residential environment to identify different figures of merit, which evaluates the performance of wrist - mounted Patch and PCB Monopole antennas under different scenarios, such as wrist orientations, body rotations and different rooms of a terrace house. The figures of merit are tested particularly in regions of concern. It is observed that Monopole antenna performs better in majority of the cases, however for regions of deep fades and surface wave sectors, the Patch Antenna performs better. It is imperative to mention that the theme of the paper is basically the determination of a methodology to identify performance matrices for any antenna operating in identified regions of concern. Finally, a new approach for channel gain sectorization and measurement-based channel models for narrow band systems areprovided for different rooms of a terrace House. The multiplicity of Channel Models for different sectors indicate that using them for system design or RF propagation analysis is not a right approach.
