Gasoline was reformed by an external fuel reforming system at the reforming temperature from 488 K to 638 K. And the numerical simulation study was carried out using CONVERGE to study the effects of reformed products at different reforming temperatures on engine combustion and emission performance with different loads. The results showed that the reforming temperature has a great influence on the composition of the reformed products. With the increase of reforming temperature, gasoline gradually generated CH4, C2H4, CH3CHO and other species, accompanied by CO, CO2and other products. The addition of reformed products advanced the combustion phase, reduced the cylinder pressure and combustion heat release rate, and affected the combustion state in the cylinder. Meanwhile, the addition of reformed products would reduce the emission of exhaust gas under medium and high load conditions, but the emissions would increase under low load condition. Therefore, reasonable selection of low-temperature reformed products could make the engine achieve clean and efficient combustion under different load conditions.
