The results of a double‐blind trial of a tetracyclic antidepressant, maprotiline (Ludiomil®) and a conventional tricyclic, amitriptyline (Elavil®), in 67 ambulatory depressives are reported. hamilton's Rating Scale for Depression was the main outcome criterion.
