Spin transmission in Cr 2 O 3 films of different crystalline textures is studied experimentally. With Y 3 Fe 5 O 12/Cr 2 O 3/Pt trilayer devices, a spin current is injected into Cr 2 O 3 by spin pumping from Y 3 Fe 5 O 12, and the spin transmission is monitored by the inverse spin Hall voltage (V ISHE) in Pt. For (0001) plane textured Cr 2 O 3 films, V ISHE vanishes quickly below the Néel temperature. However, the V ISHE shows a broad shoulder below the Néel temperature for (11 2‾ 0) and (11 2‾ 3) plane co-textured Cr 2 O 3. Such a difference in the temperature dependence of Cr 2 O 3 can be understood by the different Néel vector orientations with respect to the injected spin moment direction.
